North Carolina Central University envisions the new
Collaborative Research & Learning Center (CRLC) as a gateway to the
university and a beacon of innovation for its students. Designed as a bridge
for off-campus students, the CRLC will be open 24/7, providing continuous
access to resources that foster learning and creativity. Equipped with
state-of-the-art technology, the Center empowers students to innovate, while
also offering quiet study spaces. The CRLC embraces a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor
environments, inspired by the welcoming front porches of nearby homes. A
covered canopy serves as an extension of this "reimagined porch,"
creating a flexible outdoor space.
