Teri Featured in GroundBreak Carolinas Article Celebrating here Evolving Women in AEC Award
EVOKE Co-founder and Principal Teri Canada was recognized with the 2020 Evolving Women in AEC Award for her exceptional ability to create and lead award-winning design projects. Teri has served as a fervent advocate for extraordinary architecture by thoughtfully and efficiently guiding award-wining projects for over 24 years. She is an insightful mentor to young architects, and continues to share her knowledge by giving tours and holding meetings with aspiring designers. Her ability to communicate design ideas and lead meaningful community engagement leads to thoughtful and successful design.
From being one of the first five African American women to become a registered architect, Teri joined the Freelon Group, rapidly advanced to Senior Associate as a result of her exceptional client management skills, and went on to serve as Lead Project Manager on award-winning projects like the National Center for Civil and Human Rights Museum and Emancipation Park.
Teri continues to mentor and inspire other designers and architects while pushing the field forward through architecture. We are excited to see others recognizing her tremendous contributions to the architecture field! Congratulations Teri!
