Samantha Powell-Jones
Samantha Powell-Jones
Office Coordinator
Samantha Powell-Jones is awesome. She grew up around art and artists, with works by Jacob Lawrence and Romare Bearden as the backdrops to playdates. Growing up in a house nicknamed "The Butterfly House," designed by a Durham architect, Samantha understands how art and architecture can enrich and inspire someone's life and the community for the better. The indelible impressions of her upbringing led Samantha to a career of supporting artists and the arts. It was not until she worked with world-renowned Architect Phil Freelon that she really fell in love with Architecture.
Some refer to her as an infectious optimism aficionado because of the unapologetically optimistic perspective she projects. Samantha is professional, precise, and exact―and always smiling. She is excellent at juggling multiple tasks while coordinating and managing schedules, logistics, and personalities. While she was born in San Diego, she has long since called North Carolina home. She is a graduate of Bennett College and holds an M.A. in English and African American Literature from NC A&T State University.
